Over 32 million Americans are visually impaired or blind- yet most everyday products fail to consider their needs.Braille & Butter is an inclusive meal kit program designed to make cooking simple, enjoyable, and empowering for people with visual impairments.

Braille & Butter makes cooking feel easier and more enjoyable through a vibrant, high-contrast palette that improves legibility and clarity at a glance. Backed by research, every design detail is crafted to reduce confusion and support a calm, confident cooking experience.

In order to understand consumer pain-points,I conducted user interviews with potential consumers of the brand, and organized pain-points in a simple visual chart to test the brand’s success against.

Braille & Butter uses AtkinsonHyperlegible Font, which was developed by the Braille Institute to improve legibility and readability for individuals with low vision. The brand also utilizes distinct patterns created by product illustrations, as patterns help people with low vision to easily differentiate between products.
